OSHA

Effective October 1, 2007, during all comprehensive safety/health enforcement visits, Oregon OSHA staff evaluates the employer's motor vehicle safety efforts if employees drive company vehicles or their privately owned vehicles as part of their employment. The Tactical Response Academy can assist you with advanced driver training classes and help ensure a safe working environment which meets state and local guidelines. Let our proven track record work for you in developing a written vehicle safety policy, education and training, and knowledge of the rules.

The TRAined Driving System works!

The Tactical Response Academy offers a variety of driver training services that are custom designed for the most basic or advanced drivers.

We provide winter-driving skills training to new drivers, intermediate and advanced level training to corporate professionals, and advanced supplemental training for emergency responders. Training includes, but is not limited to, classroom courses, a state-of-the-art driving simulator, closed course training, vehicle usage and driver safety policies and checklists.

Safety Manual Purchase Manuals Now! We also provide Vehicle Usage Policies, Driver Safety Manuals, and a Driver Safety Checklist. These manuals can be downloaded for a nominal fee in a generic pdf file format or they can be downloaded in MS Word which allows for customization. --read manuals

The Driver Safety Checklist is a Free Download (PDF).

We currently offer two, 4-hour classroom presentations. One is designed primarily for emergency responders, while the second is for most other disciplines. Our instructors are some of the best in their fields in emergency vehicle operations, crash reconstruction, and/or professional based driving.

Additionally, we use the state-of-the-art driving simulator to reinforce concepts taught in the classroom portions of the training or as a stand-alone training tool. While the simulator will never replace the “rubber on the road feeling”, it provides an added dimension to driver training and allows for handling and corrective issues in emergency situations and countless other scenarios. Closed-course training provides an opportunity to teach evasive maneuvers and evaluate perception and reaction times, and braking response for drivers.
